Dental Hygienist???
I am strongly considering going back to school to become a Dental Hygienist in the very near future. Does anyone know someone who has had a good experience with this profession? Please share info and/or insights with me. I would love to hear it.
i think that is the perfect fit for you. i have a friend that did the dental hygienist program up there at weber. i'll talk to her and see if she has any info to share!
I've heard its a great profession and that the hours are very flexible, which is great for a family. Unfortunately I don't know anybody extremely well that's in the program, so I can't help you out much there! But good luck!
Kris' sister graduated a year or two ago from a dental hygiene program in Utah Valley ( not UVSC's ) and she really likes it. She has had no problem finding work. We also had a friend in Lubbock who was a hygienist - she only worked 2 days a week which was nice! Let me know if you want any info from any of them - Kris' sister works for a coupld different dentists in Utah Valley.
Ooh, my friend Jessica was (or still is, I haven't seen her in a while) a hygenist and she loved it! She made VERY good money, too (in San Francisco). I'm pretty sure she did her schooling at Weber. If you'd like, I can try to get you in contact with her. She lives in Seattle now, but I have her information. Good luck with the decision making!
I'm a little behind with blog-reading! haha. And it looks like everyone knows a dental hygenist too. But one of the women that I'm in the Young Womens Presidency with in my ward is a dental hygenist. She talks about how people ask her all the time about it and her advice is always the same. To see if you can do a job shadow kind of thing before going to school for it. They have some people job shadow and hate looking in peoples mouths for a day and others love it. But that sounds exciting! Keep updating on what you decide.
