Crazy Birthday Family

Yes...we are the Crazy Birthday Family!  All of us celebrate our birthdays within 8 weeks of each other.  If Tyler had been born on his due date, we would have had all five of us celebrating birthdays within 6 weeks.  It's kind of exhausting, but atleast we get a whole year of birthday-free stress! The kids don't get jealous of each other being in the spotlight because they know their birthday is right around the corner. 

Ben and I both had pretty low key birthday celebrations.  Although I did buy Ben 2 giant cookies for his special day.  One to eat at home and one to share at work.  Happy Birthday Ben!  He has been such a big help to me with a new baby.  He has let me sleep-in whenever possible and yesterday for the first time, he made me breakfast AFTER sleeping in til 9:30 because I had had one hour of sleep all night!  Yahoo!

Love at Home

Last week we had a Family Home Evening lesson about having more 'Love at Home'. Ben was in charge of the lesson and did a great job. The activity for the evening was drawing a picture that depicts one way we can each have more love in our home. The following is Ben's picture:

Yep, that's me sitting there in front of the TV holding the beloved REMOTE!!! Which, by the way, I never get to use!!! I must say I look smokin' in my skinny body, tight pink outfit and noticable boob lift. The mer-man in the background is Ben. This picture was just too dang funny not to share.

Grandma Fern turns 90!!!!!

Grandma Fern is an amazing woman and she turns 90 this December! All of her family members decided to throw her a party early because we all know how crazy the month of December can be with the Christmas rush and crazy weather. Gma Fern still takes line dancing classes and does all her own gardening and canning.

His sisters Kay and Beth and his mother, Carolyn flew out from Tennessee to attend the party. It was so fun to visit with them. Kristen lives with Gma Fern so we get to visit with her frequently and Ben's brother, Ron, was the only one not able to attend.

Ben had so much fun visiting with his sisters, mother and grandma. We all had a great weekend and the weather was unbelievable. What a fun weekend!!! We are sad it is over. Happy (early) Birthday to a wonderful woman and grandmother!!!!

Just B Cause

I am a little behind on posting some pictures-about a month or so to be exact. A few weeks before Valentine's day, Ben had these beautiful flowers sent to me at my work. Everyone in our family, except for me had been sick. It was a rough week taking care of all the 'sickees' and Ben wanted to say THANKS! Isn't that nice? It made me so happy. Our children were so delighted to see the flowers and they tried to smell them everytime they entered the room. We caught Ashlynn a few times sitting on the table sniffing the flowers with her sicky, snotty nose. Every day for a week, Luke would say, "Those flowers mean that Daddy loves you Mommy". I think it was good for our children to see their Daddy give Mommy flowers. They knew it was a kind gesture of appreciation. Ben is very good to me. I know that he loves me not just because he gave me flowers, but because he always speaks kindly to me, helps me with household chores, gives me compliments and he is always trying to make me happy. I really couldn't ask for anything else... well... except for his shoes to be picked up from time to time:) Good job Ben!

and after!!! Bye-Bye Glasses!!! Ben is doing well and is loving not having to search for his glasses in the morning. Now I need to muster up the courage to do the same thing. Scary!!

Jesse James Hideout

We stayed at the Anniversary Inn in Logan this past weekend. Ben's cousin Buffy and Kenny watched our kids and they did a great job. Thanks guys! Here is the Jesse James Hideout. It was a lot of fun. This room is actually in it's own building away from the main house. Each room is themed but this one is their best seller.

Breakfast! They also gave us fresh baked cookies, 2 slices of cheesecake in our little refrigerator, sparkling apple cider and Ben's favorite...IBC Rootbeer chilling in a wooden barrel. There was also a big screen TV. We had a lot of fun.
